When life interrupts...

Hello, everybody, The Girl here. Hijacking the blog from the dog for a minute.

Dannan hasn't posted in a few days, and it's not his fault. (He said to say that, even though I told him that everybody would know that it was my fault!) I've had a serious case of life interrupting our blogging life. I wish I could vent here, but I can't. So, enough said.

We did get out for some pictures today. It's been cold and icky and windy and rainy lately. I'll let Dannan post the pictures tomorrow. He finally got an Adventure today, which made today the most exciting day in what he thinks is forever.

Two little stories from me, before I give back the blog. First, today I put some chicken in to bake in the oven. I had taken it out, but forgot to turn off the oven. Dannan was sitting beside me, making the biggest pest of himself. He didn't want to go outside; he didn't want to go into the Bunker (the bathroom: his safety zone from noises like fireworks); he didn't want to be in our bedroom. He didn't want to go outside. As far as I could tell, he didn't want anything at all!

I went into the kitchen to get a drink of water, and he followed me out. I felt the heat as soon as I passed the stove, and turned off the oven. As soon as I did, Dannan hopped off to the bedroom to lie down. I had finally done what he was telling me to do, as near as I can figure. What a dog!

The other little story has to do with our time in the backyard today. Like I said, it's been chilly and icky lately, but it wasn't raining and Dannan was a little stir-crazy. So I took him outside, and stayed out there with him. (He's always much happier to have a person out there when he's out, especially on days with nasty weather potential. He just likes company.) I wore my thick winter jacket, a hat, and took a fleece blanket out to cover my legs while I sat watching him. He did his thing for a bit, scowled at me for taking pictures, and then settled down on the ground about six feet away from me.

We sat out there for a while. Then I noticed that he was shivering a bit. So I asked him if he was cold, and should we go in the house to warm up? Up he hopped, and went straight to the door. I had to laugh: I was out there, keeping him company; and he was out there, keeping me company! What a silly pair, both of us shivering because we each thought the other wanted to be outside!

Dannan will be back tomorrow. He is skeptical, but I'll show him!

What a good boy Dannan is! How very smart of him to tell you something was amiss in the house. Thank goodness too...

Great stories - Dannan sounds like a real smarty! I hope that the life interrupting your blog is calming down, and that Dannan is seeing your through it.

Dannan, I just think you should ask your mom to knit you a sweater. Mom mom says she is going to knit me one, but we will see if that really happens.

Dannan man!

Those two stories are funny indeed. You and your human make quite a pair! The last story made me laugh!

That is so funny that you were both cold and thought the other wanted to stay outside. You two really care about each other.
