The World is Over

So Blogger is letting me put pictures in this post. Crazy thing. I wanted you to see what I look like when The World is Over, such as when one of the "T"s that I hate happens.

The Letter Game revisited

Hi, everypuppy and kitty! Dannan here.

The other day we did a great game called the Letter Game, where I listed ten things that I love that start with the letter "T". So I decided that today, I would list ten things I hate that start with "T".

1. Time out. This means I'm in trouble and have to be locked in the bathroom for a minute or so. Usually, cats are involved.

2. Toenail cutting. This is a way that people make little brown dogs very sad. No discernible purpose that I can see.

3. "Ten (twenty, thirty) more minutes." This means that it is not time for dinner, no matter how convinced I am that it IS time.

4. "That's not yours." Usually means that I'm sniffing something in a bag that was just brought into the house, and that the people don't want me to examine it. How's a dog supposed to do his job guarding the house from contraband smuggling if he's not allowed to check all the bags??

5. "Toes off!" I am up on my hind legs with my front paw on something or someone. This phrase means that I'm not allowed, and I'm in trouble again.

6. "Time to come in." I am outside, having a grand time barking, and this means I have to stop, and also that I have to go into the house.

7. Torture device. I showed you pictures this past week of me walking with the torture device on my face. The Girl calls it a head halter or a Gentle Leader. I call it a weapon against the dignity of doggies everywhere.

8. "TV! That's on the TV!" Means that the intriguing sound that I am focused on is not being made by something I can examine. Often said when I hear a horse. I want a horse. When The Girl says this, she means there is no horse, even though I can hear it. How can there be no horse if I can hear it? The Girl is silly.

9. "Time to go!" Only a bad phrase when said at the dog park. The Girl is telling me that the behaviour I'm doing is unacceptable. Even when it's TOTALLY appropriate, like me lunging at the puppy to make sure she understood to leave me alone. The Girl says this and then hustles me out of the dog park.

10. "This is chocolate. Not for dogs." This one is self-explanatory, I think.

So there are some of the things that I hate that start with the letter "T". It's not an official game, but anybody who wants to try the Letter Game (of love or hate), just leave a comment and I'll give you a letter.

The Girl wants me to say again to all our friends, thank you for all your kind words and support for us while The Roomie's brother is in hospital. He is in very bad shape, so please keep those paws crossed.

I leave you with a picture of what I look like when I am forced to be subjected to one of the above "T"s.

Edited to add: Okay, Blogger is not letting me add any pictures right now. Imagine me looking like the world is over. That's how I look.

Saturday in the backyard

Hi, everypuppy and kitty, it's Dannan here. Thanks to evfurryone for your kind words and support about The Roomie's brother. He's not out of the woods yet, and when he is, he'll have a long recovery ahead of him. It helps to know we've got such good friends out there, thinking good thoughts.

The Girl is back and forth between needing to keep busy and not being able to concentrate. So in the next couple of days, we may make it to all our friends' bloggies, and we might not. But we wanted to do something cheery today, and The Girl took some pictures in the backyard.

I asked her to take a picture of my favfurrite tree. There are almost always birdies in this tree, and sometimes even squirrels!

Ha ha, you can even see my hind-self in the bottom right hand corner!

This is me at the foot of that tree. Around the trunk of the tree are some bushes and a little evergreen-type tree. It's in the middle of our backyard, and The Girl calls it the Island. I love my Island!

This is me making a funny face.

The Girl says she doesn't know what I'm doing with my lips in this picture.

Here are some other pictures of me enjoying my backyard:

I've saved the best for last! The Girl got this picture of me while I was running:

The Girl says she really wishes that we had access to a video camera, because she says I am beWROOtiful when I run. Ha ha, look at this close up and check me out. BeWROOtiful, for sure! BOL!

We'll be back as and when we can. Love to you all, and wrooooooooooooo.

Today is brought to you by the letter "T"

I read Lady Kaos' post about the Letter Game, so I asked her for a letter so I could play. She gave me "T".

So here are 10 Things I Love that start with T:

1. The Girl. I love her best of all!

2. Treats. No "T" list would be complete without treats! My favourite treats are bully sticks, cheese, and everything else! The Girl is too lazy to get up and gather a bunch of my treats together to take a picture, so here are some images I found on the web.

3. Time for bed! This means that I get my Omega-3 dentastick, which I LOVE. It is not a treat, I get it every night at bedtime.

4. Toys. Especially squeeky squirrels. And puppets. The Girl gets me hand puppets from the thrift store, and I love to be allowed to bite her hand! I destroyed my last squirrel a couple of days ago, and my hand puppet dinosaur has disappeared (The Girl: Because he destroyed that, too!). But this is my new favourite toy, the Pink Ducky! Also pictured are my pink flamingo, and Sheepy. Both are long gone, though.

5. Turkey. Very tasty! We didn't have turkey for Thanksgiving this year, but I sure do like it! Technically a treat, but worth mentioning on it's own.

6. Tomatoes. Not a treat; I am entitled to a portion of every tomato The Girl cuts.

7. The Mailman. He gives me cookies.

Not our actual Mailman. Image from http://office.microsoft.com/clipart/

8. Tug. I love to play tug with my toys. When I came to The Girl, I didn't know how to play with toys at all, and I didn't have a clue about tugging. But it didn't take me long to learn!

9. Tails. I love to wag my tail! The Girl says it's a very good thing that I'm so waggy, because my face is usually hound-doggy sad. She tried to get some pictures of me wagging my tail, but as soon as she focused the camera on my hind end, I stopped wagging.

10. Trees. They hold birds and squirrels! And they are also good to pee on! I wanted The Girl to take a picture of my favourite tree in the backyard, but it's raining, and she refuses to go out. If you can imagine! So here is just some tree.

That was so fun! If you'd like to play, let me know and I'll give you a letter!

Please support Mona and the Mommy! They need us!

Mona and the Mommy are friends of ours from Texas. Mona is a sweet wire-haired Dachshund, and the Mommy has a heart as big as the world.

You may know Mona and the Mommy, but if you don't, we think you should. And they can really use our support today; Jody has gotten much worse and may need to be helped to the Bridge. We all know how hard it is to make the decision that it is time, and how hard it is to lose a beloved family member. So please stop by their blog today and send them good thoughts and love. Thanks for helping out a friend for us.
