Holiday pictures

It's that time of year again, and I have been living in dread that The Girl would once again make me pose for a Holiday Picture.  In past years, this has often include something humiliating she wanted me to wear. 

For example,

And there was the year where she thought I'd make a cute reindeer:

Girlie, dogs are NOT reindeer!  Can't you just see the terror in my eyes!  That Girl ought to be ashamed, putting me in a situation where I looked like this!  (Note from The Girl:  Yikes, it is alarming to see this picture - I agree, this was NOT nice to my Little Brown Dog!)

Then, another year, she decided that instead of making me pose wearing ridiculous human accessories, she would buy some Christmas-y fabrics and pose me on them instead.  At least I escaped the indignity of antlers and Santa bibs.  And I guess it's something that she's aware of how unsuccessful this experiment was;  she has these pictures in a folder called "Failed Xmas Pics".

You should also know that those pictures were part of a series she called "Xmas Torture"!  I just know all my furends are outraged!  (Blogger is giving Girlie a hard time with the formatting of the pictures and the words, so we're sorry if this post looks a bit strange...)

 

This year, That Girl said that she had decided not to torment me by forcing me to do undignified things.  (I think it's more a question of how lazy she is, but whatever.)  She found a website called Imikimi, and she used a picture from this past summer to make a few Holiday Pictures.  This is a much more respectful way of doing things, I'm sure you'll agree.

I sure hope that all my furends, whether doggies or kitties or peoples, get to be with the ones they love in the next week or two.  (Even though I complain about her a lot, I really do love My Girlie, you know.)  Happy Howlidays, evfurryone, and Happy WROO year!!!

Christmas Day!

Wroooooooooooooo and Merry Christmas! Dannan here, blogging from Nanny and Papa's house! We've been here since Tuesday, and we'll go home sometime this weekend, I think.

I got a new toy, Mr. Santa Head. Check out the action shots that The Girl took!

Then, while I was having fun with Mr. Santa Head, The Girl opened a gift with a pretty scarf in it. She asked me if I wanted to pose in the scarf; we settled on this compromise:

Then, of course, I had to go Upside Down.

They have snow here, too, just like we do at home! (The Girl notes that we only live fifteen minutes away.) The Girl shoveled out a little area for me to do my business. I also bounded through the snow in quite a few places, because she was too lazy to shovel paths for me. It's been a bit warmer today (only -4 or so Celsius), so I've been able to do a little running.

Dannan, faster than a speeding bullet! BOL, at least faster than a Girlie can take a picture!

At Nanny and Papa's house, I can see out the front picture window and watch all the goings-on on the street. (As I've said before, I can't see out of our windows at home, because they are Min Pin proofed so they won't go bonkers when someone goes by.)

A new coat, from The Girl. I don't know why she gave me a new coat, I hate my OLD coat! (The Girl: The old coat has velcro fasteners, and he's scared of the sound of them ripping apart. I haven't gotten around to replacing the velcro with snaps, so he got a new coat that pulls over. It's actually a hoodie! He looks like quite the rock star in it... I'll get a picture next time I put it on him.)

This is Mr. Santa Head, also from Nanny. He is missing the pompom on his hat (which The Girl cut off anyway), because I already pulled it off. He's a pretty fun guy.

The Girl begged and pleaded, and pleaded and begged, so I gave her a good shot...

The Girl also says that she got me a new laser pointer but forgot to give it to me. I say, show me the toy, Girlie! Then I'll believe it!

More fun with Mr. Santa Head... I am too fast for film!

The Girl says we are going to try to get a picture of the two of us together later on tonight. We don't have any pictures like that, so it would be nice if she had to pose for a change!


Oh, and I was going to mention that our Christmas card image is not the product of magic by The Girl. She didn't make my head go into the ornaments; it's a website called Photofunia. Please! The Girl can hardly use Photoshop to crop, never mind this kind of skillful art! Wroo! It's a fun site, so check it out when you have time.


Anywroo, I hope all of my furends are having a wonderful day, whether they celebrate Christmas or not. Hope you're all getting lots of cuddles and treats, and that your people (or Santa Paws!) got you some fun new toys! Furends, we love you all and are thinking of you today!

Awards and holiday cards!

Wrooooo, my furends! Don't tell The Girl, but I think this makes it THREE DAYS in a ROW that I got to post!


We got some awards that we have to tell you about. The first one is from Sunny and Scooter, the Texas Sun Dogs.




This award was created by a Mommy in honour of the donor of the heart that saved her son, Noah's life. Please drop by her site to read the story behind the award, it will touch your heart.


Organ donation is something that we really believe in. The Girl's nephew, Adam, had a liver transplant that saved his life. So we are proud to post this award on our site. (We'll get it on the sidebar soon.)

The other thing I wanted to write about today is our HOLIDAY CARDS!!!! I am so excited about the Holiday Card exchange that my tail is about to fall off! We have shared some pictures from Christmases past with you, and many pictures from this fall that didn't make the cut. I have cleverly kept back the picture we did go with, but you'll all get to see it soon!


The Girl is making our cards this year. (She is craft-impaired, so please don't expect too much, especially our artistically inclined furends! They are crafted with love, though!) The Girl says we don't have a lot of money for stamps, so we're not sure how many we'll send through snail mail. (Girlie says at least 30, hopefully 40.) But we both agreed that we want evfurry doggy and kitty on the list (and the ones that we know that aren't on the list) to get something from us, so we're going to send email cards to evfurryone else!


We're aiming to get our cards in the snail mail thing, whatever that means, on Monday or Tuesday at the latest. But we don't know when to send the email ones. Bolo asked this question on his bloggy, too, and said they thought not before Dec. 1st. Does anydoggy or kitty know when the best time to send the email cards would be?

It's a little blurry, but The Girl likes it. (She calls it Foot and Tail... I say, DUH!) We're uploading other pictures, but it's taking a long time to get them moved from the card to the computer. So hopefully, tomorrow there will be LOTS of pictures!

Yikes, we didn't mean to make you worry!

Wroooo, everypuppy and kitty! Dannan again, TWO days in a ROW!


First things first. When The Girl typed for me yesterday, I think we were both influenced by a very low mood. (Not mine, but hers!) I suggested to her that maybe we won't post when we're (read: she's) in that kind of head space. We'll wait until it's passed a little bit, so we're (read: she's) not so gloomy!


Many of our good furends are worried about The Girl, and we didn't want yesterday's post to make people even more worried! Yesterday, The Girl got some news about one of our furry dear (offline) furends, and everything seemed very bleak. Today, because she's got a little perspective, The Girl feels better.


I'll tell you a little secret about My Girlie. She always wants to fix things for the people she loves! But there's lots of times that she can't, and all she can do is support them until they figure out what they want to do. She gets furry agitated at not being able to fix it, though!


Here's another thing. The Girl has some things in the works that she's doing to make her own life better (she says it will make my life better too, so I'm thinking it involves more trips to the dog park, or more bully sticks, or something), but now it's got to go on hold for a while. So she's just got to bear with the things she wants to change, just until it's right to make them happen.


There, I hope efurrybody feels a little less worried now! The Girl is supporting our furend, and working on being patient (she's not furry good at that, either!). Things will all work out eventually, my Nanny says. And Nannys know efurrything.


Today, I want to share some pictures from Christmases past. (The Girl still hasn't uploaded the ones from yesterday.)


These are from a couple of years ago. This is me, with antlers. Note the sheer panic. (The Girl felt very bad. Now she wears the antlers and I don't have to.)






This is a happier picture, although my Laser Eyes are speaking volumes.





And here are a couple more from this year's photoshoot at Nanny's house. I am snoofling in the leaves. Sometimes, The Girl scatters kibble or treats in the leaves and I get to find them. None in the leaves that day, though!
