Help!!!!

Help me, my furends!  (Assuming I have any furends left!  After all, it has been eleventy-seven YEARS since That Mean Girl let me post on my bloggy!)

I need somepuppy to call the SPCA, or the police, or 911, or something.  I need to be rescued!  That Mean Girl is neglecting me terribly.  I'm sure that keeping me away from my bloggy and all my furends is a crime, and they would help me.

I know that all of you have been wondering about us, whether we're okay, or even still alive!  Well, we are alive, but obviously all is not well at my house.  That Mean Girl is doing all kinds of other things, and she has some pretty messed up priorities, that much is obvious!

I am doing pretty well other than never being allowed on my own bloggy.  We had some bad thunder for a few weeks, and I was worried about that.  But I'm doing better, especially since it's been a while since we had those awful storms.  Cross your paws that we don't have many more!

I am settling in well at my Nanny and my Papa's house, which seems to be where we'll be living for a while.  All of our stuff is here, so I guess we're staying.  I don't mind, really.  The wind is kind of scary sometimes here, more than at The Roomie's house.  But my Nanny and my Papa have a nice big backyard, and my Nanny puts out a birdie feeder so they come around.  Then I can chase them, which is one of my fave-fur-ite things to do!

My Nanny and my Papa also like to share their foodables with me.  This drives That Mean Girl crazy, because she says that I have to "stay lean, because he only has one front leggie".   I think she is just jealous, because my Nanny and my Papa don't give her foodables.  My Papa always gives me half of his apple.  And lots of other things that That Mean Girl doesn't know about, so I won't write about them here.

They also let me bark more than That Mean Girl does.  Wroo!

I also really wuff to roll on my Papa's bed!  If he doesn't close his bedroom door all the way, I sneak in there and roll.  It is really pawsome!

I don't have much time, since I had to sneak on here when That Mean Girl wasn't paying attention.  It is furry hard to type with my nose, because all the keys on the laptop thingy are so close together.  But I seem to have figured it out okay, so I'll try to sneak on to my bloggy more often.

I guess I better say something about how That Mean Girl is doing.  She has been going to the People V-E-T a lot lately, and she takes a lot of different pills.  (She doesn't even take them with peanut butter, or CheezeWhiz!  She has no idea, really.  It is quite sad.)  She says they are "trying to find a meds combination that works".  I’m sure it would work better if she took them with CheezeWhiz.

She is also doing lots of cheating on me with other doggies.  Evfurry Monday night, she goes away and comes back hours later smelling of puppies.  Can you imagine???  She says she is teaching the puppies’ people how to train them.  A likely story.

She also is doing something with the SPCA shelter doggies and the magic clicky box.  I don’t know why she feels the need to go there to use the magic clicky box, since I’m always ready, willing, and able to let her click it at me and give me treats.  I really don’t understand her.

She spends a LOT of time on this laptop thingy.  She says she is “learning”.  Another likely story.

Anyway, enough about That Mean Girl.  And I think I hear her coming back, so I’d better go lie on the chair Upside Down so she doesn’t suspect anything.

I miss all of you, my furends.  Here’s hoping you’re all still out there somewhere!  And hoping that That Mean Girl gets off the laptop thingy evfurry once in a while, so I can sneak on here and post!

The Girl has lost her mind...

Wroo, furends! I finally got some bloggy time!

It has been kind of a boring month. That Girlie isn't taking pictures of me still - any doggy or kitty know how to train a hooman how to do that?!? The pictures in this post below are from earlier this spring -- I finally got The Girl to upload them from the little silver box (the one that flashes) to the bigger silver box (that she spends all her time with instead of with me).

I have been chasing lots of birdies. Nanny and Papa have new neighbours, and they are all amazed at how fast I run. It is nice to get that reaction from them, because all of my peoples just take it for granted that I can run like the wind! (Or like a birdie...) Nanny calls me "the little brown flash", which is a pretty good nickname, I think.

But I know you are wondering why I say that Girlie has lost her mind. So I will get right to that story. Sometimes The Girl brings out a little white box that she holds in her hand. She calls it "training time", and the little white box makes a click sound, then I get a treat. It's a pretty good time.

So lately, she's been getting out the little while clicky thing, and then she wants me to poke her hand with my nose. When I do, she makes it say click, and I get a little piece of hot dog. I have no idea why on earth she would want me to poke her hand with my nose, but The Girl often does things that I don't understand. We've been playing this little poking game quite a bit, and she's even given it a name - Touch. I look at her like she's crazy when we play this game, but as long as the hot dogs keep coming, I'll keep poking at her.

One day, she even wanted me to poke Nanny's hand with my nose. So I did. Lots of times, and I got lots of treats. Then she asked me to poke Papa's hand... that was harder for me, because I am sometimes quite nervous of Papa, especially his hands. But I did poke his hand, twice, and got lots of treats and praise. I really don't know what's going on with Girlie.

Then today, we were outside in the backyard and she wanted me to poke this round green thing that she calls a Beach Ball. I can see no point to this exercise, but today she was giving out little pieces of CHEESE for nose-poking the Beach Ball. So I did it until Girlie said that the cheese was all gone.

Does anybody know why The Girl would get so excited about nose-poking??? I'm not complaining, mind you -- as long as she's giving out treats, I'll keep nose-poking. But the purpose of this activity is beyond me!

So here are a couple of pictures of me outside. You can tell that they are from earlier this spring, because the grass is all dead. Right now, the grass here is all green and nice. Here's me looking in the neighbour's yard for birdies:

This one is just me, hearing something in the backyard:

And here's one of me looking at the small silver boxy thing:

Hopefully, I'll get another change to bloggy soon. Send in your tips for training stubborn and hard-to-train Girlies!

Old photo alert

But at least it's a photo. Wroo.

The Girl is making all kinds of interesting noises. She sneezes and coughs, hacks and groans, moans and sniffles. And when I jump on her, she makes an intriguing squeal-ly kind of sound. When she made it the furst time, I had to jump on her again a few times to try to figure out what exactly it was about. I thought that it was a squeal of delight as I bounced and bounced. But I could be wrong, she keeps saying something about how her whole self hurts.

It's a lovely day but chilly. It's perfect for pictures, but The Girl is all burrowed under blankets. And I am not permitted to have the kleenex, if you can imagine that! So I'm outside all by myself, not even anybody to watch me run. Sigh. At least Papa is feeling better. Now, just gotta get Girlie back up to snuff! Thanks for all your good wishes, she'll be on the mend soon, I'm sure!

Sickies again

Wroo. No pictures AGAIN. The Girl has got some kind of sickies, the kind where she moans about her body aches and feeling icky. My Papa has them, too. Not fun for Little Brown Dogs.

Check it out! - Edited, and Edited again!

I'm just out in the backyard at Nanny and Papa's, hanging around...

When I run, sometimes I get a little bit of what The Girl calls "slime" hanging down from my lips...

She calls it that because after it starts, if I keep running, it usually flips over my muzzle and SLIMES on my face. This is the Before Picture!

Tune in Tuesday for the AFTER!

Pee Ess Our new furends Ruby and Penny (they live in Canada, too - wrooooo!) commented that they were surprised that we still have some snow. We do, but not as much as it looks like in these pictures. The Girl is taking a lazy approach to this Picture-a-Day idea, and using up old photos that she's never gotten around to putting on the bloggy. Seriously, I don't know how I put up with her! Maybe tomorrow we'll post a picture that shows what our snow really looks like. I can always hope....

Edited: That Girlie! She's REALLY trying to be lazy, and to outfox all of my furends! She wanted this post to publish on Monday - she's trying to set up posts ahead of time, if you can believe it! This is NOT the spirit of the Picture-a-Day idea, Girlie! But my bloggy is smarter than that, and showed you all the truth: she's trying to CHEAT!

Anyway, we're going to take pictures tomorrow (which is Sunday) of what the backyard looks like, because we really don't have this much snow left anymore. And we WILL post the Slime - AFTER picture on Tuesday. Girlie is feeling a little embarrassed at being caught out cheating, so she's going to stop for tonight and give me a belly rub instead. RIGHT, Girlie???

Edited AGAIN: The Girl had to come in and fix the link to Ruby and Penny's bloggy, which is HERE. The link above is fixed, too. Sorry to my new furends, Ruby and Penny! The Girl is obviously too tired to be blogging, since she's so sleepy that (a) she accidentally published this post, letting herself be caught at cheating, and (b) clicked the WRONG bloggy on Ruby and Penny's Blogger profile, linking their PAWSOME bloggy to a bloggy we've never even read before! (Though that bloggy is also a Dachshund bloggy, and we might just have to check it out sometime.) Girlie is both red-faced and muttering HBO words, so not only does she owe me that belly rub, but perhaps also a Parmesan Cheese Cookie!

Pictures from a sunny day

Wroooooooo, furends! I bet you thought The Girl fell asleep and never woke back up!

We're both doing well. My Girlie is continuing to get better, even though she's still really dizzy all the time. And I'm a little bit bored when she naps, but Nanny and Papa look after me when she sleeps. And that Girlie keeps telling me we'll get walking again soon, but I don't think I believe her. She says the delay is mostly 'cause she can't find my Torture Device. Little does she know, but I took care of that nasty head harness but good.

Just a quick post for today. We've had some really nice days recently, so The Girl's taken pictures. Notice that they haven't made it to my bloggy. Send emails complaining, that might help! Wroooo!

These pictures were taken one day when The Girl had to go to the people V-E-T, but it wasn't quite time to leave yet. In the background of a couple of them, you can see the Magnificently Huge Purse she carries around. (That's what she's taken to calling it, and I blame Mango. I wuff you, buddy, but seriously, The Girl is taking it too far.)

And here is a shot she took of my handsomeness. Please ignore the gunky in my eye! I apparently need a makeup person or something, since she doesn't bother to make me look my finest before she clicks that silver boxy thing.

And a really big thank you to all of you, furends, for continuing to stop by and leave your messages of love and support for us. It really helps my Girlie in her healing process, and it really helps me to know that you all haven't given up on me, what with the stunning lack of bloggy posts. Wrooooooooo to each and evfurry one of you, and lots of Brown Dog Love!

What wonderful furends we have!

Wroooooo!!! We're back!

Furst, we have to thank you all... our old furends and some brand new ones. You have all been so supportive and loving! Thank you to evfurry one for all of your wonderful messages! The Girl says that she would have cried over all of the love and understanding that you left for us, except that she is feeling so much better!

The Girl disappeared for a few days. Nanny said she was at someplace called a hospital, getting better. And she's come home, and I can tell that she's on the mend! She says that going to the hospital was the best thing, and that she's moving in the right direction now. She's on a brand new medication (which she doesn't even take with cheese or peanut butter! What a foolish Girlie!). She's really sleeping a whole lot of the time, because of something called a side effect, but she says she's feeling better than she has in months! WROOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!

Since The Girl is sleeping a lot of the time, and is super dizzy the rest of the time, we're not anywhere ready to get back to our usual routine yet. But The Girl's mood is better than it's been in a furry long time, and her ang-zy-a-tee hasn't been bothering her! So we're on the way, evfurry body!

The Girl has asked me to pass along lots of thanks and love and hugs to evfurry one - she says it makes a really big difference to know how many people and doggies and kitties and other furries care! So THANK YOU from Girlie!

We have some really nice pictures on the camera, but The Girl forgot to get it out of the glove compartment of the car. So we'll have to make due tonight with a camera phone picture. I am furry tired of her sleeping all of the time, but it gives me lots of time to relax and cuddle with Nanny. Oh, and to share food with Papa, but don't tell Girlie that!

We're going to slowly make our way around to evfurry body's bloggy. And I told The Girl to clear her Google Reader of the backlog... She's trying really hard to not put pressure on herself, and I agree entirely! We need to spend more time playing! Wroooooooo! We wuff you all!!!!

Honesties! For real! (edited)

Our wonderful Kuvasz furend Biggie Z presented us with the Honest Weblog Award! Thanks, Biggie! It's an honour!

The rules:"When accepting this auspicious award, you must write a post bragging about it, including the name of the misguided soul who thinks you deserve such acclaim, and link back to said person so everyone knows he or she is real.

Choose a minimum of 7 blogs that you find brilliant in content or design. Or improvise by including bloggers who have no idea who you are because you don’t have 7 friends. Show the 7 random victims’ names and links and leave a harassing comment informing them that they were prized with “Honest Weblog.” Well, there’s no prize, but they can keep the nifty icon. List at least ten honest things about yourself. Then, pass it on! "

Well, Biggie is a very honest guy. His bloggy is a great place to go to read about WTFs. No, not Wire Fox Terrors, the other WTFs. People who are clueless about doggies, and his encounters with them. You should go read his posts about them; you’ll completely know what he’s talking about! He and his Momma also do lots of educational stuff, like about raw diets and socialization and training. Check them out!

Edited to add: We tagged Daisy and Dozer at the end of this bloggy post, but it turns out they had both already received the award and passed it on to me! Thank wroo, my furends! You've gotta go see Daisy and Dozer, I wuff them so much! You will, too, I just know it! Daisy is the sweetest doggy I know, and Dozer is furry funny! And like I wrote (will write?) down below, they are totally twins!

So I have to list at least ten honest things about myself. Hmm, that shouldn’t be too hard. Biggie did a whole theme thing about his raw diet, but I think I’ll just go general. I’ll try to come up with new honesties about myself, too.

  1. I love to eat cat poop. And even sometimes Min Pin poop, when their raw food is particularly tasty. (Lexi gets al-er-Gs, so the ingredients sometimes change.)

  1. I have trouble emptying my anal glands. (TMI? Oh well! It’s honest, that’s for sure!) My Trisha at the groomer’s usually empties them for me every second month or so. The Girl is giving me pumpkin now, in hopes of tightening up my - ahem - poop. She’s also heard that raw diets help, but I haven’t quite convinced her yet that she needs to start feeding me raw.

  1. I go on the offensive when I’m face-to-face with doggies that are bigger than I am. Girlie says she doesn’t know if I do this because I live with little Min Pins or because I think I’m at as disadvantage due to my three leggy-edness. Actually, it is because I just want to show evfurrybody that I am not to be taken lightly. I’m a bad-a$$, you know.

  1. I have a huge crush on Stella. (Not news, but how can I leave it out? Kisses to you, Stella!)

  1. I am a good chewer when it comes to food. The Girl gave me some leftover green peas last night, and I chewed each pea!

  1. I am a lot smarter than (some) people give me credit for. When we first got over to Nanny and Papa’s house, they spoiled me with treats all the time. I totally convinced them that I was absolutely STARVING, and for about a week, I was able to con them out of food anytime I wanted. The Girl discovered the dozens of extra foodables I was conning, and she put a stop to it. Mean Girlie!

  1. I am the bag inspector wherever I happen to be. Any bags coming into the house must be inspected by me for contraband. Especially foodable bags. Once, I even stole a marrow bone out of a foodable bag.

  1. The Girl thinks that I am not very sly. When I stole the marrow bone, I gave it up right away when The Girl told me to. I didn’t try to hide with it, like some Min Pins I know (Lexi, I’m looking at you!) And there have been other things I’ve - ahem - appropriated for myself that I’ve taken right to The Girl. Not sly at all, she says. But then again, I’ve trained Girlie that when I get something I’m not supposed to have, she has to give me a tasty treat in exchange for the forbidden object. She just has no idea of the level on which I work!

  1. I sometimes try to creep up on the cats. I think I’m totally stealth. (Girlie here. He is stealth, but only in his own mind! Because of his three-leggedness, it’s not very inconspicuous. He moves like the wind when he runs, but when he’s going slow, it’s not so smooth. Hop, hop, hop!)

  1. I am the world’s best seat stealer. Whenever anybody gets up off of a chair or the couch, I am in their spot like lightning! I especially love to steal the Roomie’s spot! Papa’s spot is also fun to steal. The Girl makes me move if I steal her spot, but Nanny always lets me stay where I am – she’s the one that moves! Wroo!

Those are some (hopefully) new things about me! I am going to tag Daisy and Dozer with this one; they are totally twins, check them out!

* * * * *

Make sure you get over to the Mango's bloggy! He's hosting Mango-Minster this week, and evfurrybody can put in their own vote for which doggy they want to win! Today's the Hound group, wroo!

* * * * *

We have an exciting post coming up later in the week! I got some mail today, and once The Girl gets the batteries changed in the camera (don't laugh, it takes furEVER!), we'll take some pictures and a video. And I'll do a little review on what's inside the package!

Featured blog for February at DWB!!!

Wroooooooooo!!!! Congratulations to our furends Gus and Louie and Callie, those Three Happy Heelers! They were chosen by DWB'ers to receive the Awesome Blog award over at Dogs With Blogs, and they're featured on the front page of the site! We wuff their bloggy, especially when they get to go herding! Brown dog wags to you three!

We were the runner-up, and brown dog love to all of you who voted for us! Also to all of our other furends - we know it was a tough choice this month, so many great bloggies were nominated! So The Little Brown Dog's Blog is DWB's Featured Blog for February! I can't express how happy we are, so check me out:

The Girl says excuse the lint on the couch cushion. I say, Girlie, my furends aren't going to be fooled, this is an old picture! My more observant readers may notice that this is my old collar. The Girl has been too busy to take a single picture of me! She has been most disappointing of late, though she thanks all of you who have commented about her work for the SPCA being important and that it's okay that we're MIA lately. The more she gets into it, the more work she finds to do. I'm all for helping other doggies and kitties and hammies and bunnies and all, but what about ME??? She doesn't even take me to the shelter with her, cuz she says that I mark everywhere and need too much supervision. Excuse me, but hasn't she SMELLED that place?!? Wroo!

I wanted to send another big thank wroo to our Relentlessly Huge furend, Mango, who nominated us for the Awesome Blog award over at DWB! We'll soon get our Featured Bloggie graphic, and I'll make The Girl post it right away! Right, Girlie? Right!

Mango is also hosting a really pawsome event over on his bloggy, so go over and find out about Mango-Minster! Better hurry, the deadline to enter is noon on Sunday, February 9th! (There's a link to the rules in his sidebar over on the left-hand side.) You'll find me over in the Hound group, competing for fame and fortune! (Well, fame, anyway!)

We also owe Mango thanks for coming over to our bloggy and commenting so that we found out about Mango-Minster in time! We almost missed out, and that would have been terrible. So far, I've worked Girlie's guilt to get a walkie and some parmesan cheese cookies! I think we might also visit some of our furends this weekend! We're going to read as much as we can, and we'll try to comment at least once so you know we've been by!

Our next post is going to be about an award given to us by another one of our furry good furends, Biggie Z! Thanks to Biggie for letting us know in our comments that we had an award waiting over at his place! It is going to be a lot of fun, so The Girl and I are both looking forward to that post.

It has been furry nice and warm at Nanny and Papa's house the last couple of days. I have been lying on their back step on a fuzzy blankie and surveying my domain, basking in the sun. I'd love to show you some pictures of that, but THERE ARE NO NEW PICTURES! I've guilted Girlie into a lot of good stuff today, but I might be pushing my luck to demand a photo shoot. We'll have to see.

Wroo, evfurrybody!!!!!

Very funny, Girlie.

WROOOOOOO!!!!! Thanks, evfurrybody, for all your good comments about the videos! We're new at it, and the comments encouraged The Girl to make some new videos today. I'll show you those later.

First, I have to tell you that The Girl is telling me that I'm getting a swollen head. I don't really know what that means, but she says she has a photo to prove it.

Oh ha, ha, furry funny, Girlie. Don't let those opposable thumbs go to your head!

In the middle there, when I squat - the camera is shaking even more than usual because The Girl is laughing at me peeing. I don't waste a leg-lift when I'm in my own yard! (or Nanny and Papa's yard, as the case may be)

Notice how in this one I have to break my own path along the fence? I look a bit like a dolphin, don't you think? The Girl flat out refused to make me paths all around the yard, so I've had to work on them myself. I have to patrol the perimeter of Nanny and Papa's yard, it's my job! I know you doggies out there understand!

Finally, this is a great video, because in it, I get ham. And I know that I am tremendously adorable in it, so you'll enjoy it, too. The Girl cannot throw to save her life, but notice the great catch I made right at the start? Then the ham pieces in her hand fell into the sleeve of her hoodie. I don't know how The Girl makes it through the day. I didn't even have to do tricks to get the ham, she just wanted to showcase my absolute cuteness. Wroooo!

Awards! and My Film Debut!

Wrooo, I got this cool award from Stella (swoon!) and from Snoop, Gabbi, Alfie & Rosie (the ultra-super Dughallmor Beagles)!! Here are the rules:

These blogs are exceedingly charming. These kind bloggers aim to find and be friends. They are not interested in self-aggrandizement. Our hope is that when the ribbons of these prizes are cut, even more friendships are propagated. Please give more attention to these writers. Deliver this award to eight bloggers who must choose eight more and include this cleverly-written text into the body of their award.

We are SO happy that our furends think of us this way - it means so much to us! Thanks, Stella and Beagles!

Now The Girl is going to take over the post for some less happy talk about awards.

Girlie here. I told Dannan that it was only fair for me to do this part of the post, because it is totally my fault that it needs to be done.

Before Christmas, like November and December and possibly part of October, many of our furends gave us awards. I didn't post any of them. I felt overwhelmed by all the things I had to do, and I kept procrastinating. Then there were so many of them, that I just cowered under the bed and procrastinated some more. I may have thanked some of you, but I might not have thanked anybody.

And I've been putting off making this post, too. I feel tremendously awful that I let this happen - that I didn't thank most (or any) of you for honouring us with awards, that I didn't post about them, that I didn't let Dannan pass them along.

So today, I am biting the bullet and saying to each of you that I am very sorry. We did appreciate that you thought so much of us to give us an award, and we are honoured. We have the best friends that a dog and a Girl can have.

And I am facing the fact that I'm not going to go back and find all the posts with the awards one of these days. It's not going to happen, and I need to be honest about it (with you all and with myself). So I ask you all to forgive me, and not to blame Dannan. He doesn't have thumbs, as you all know. It's all on me.

In an offering to all of you, I'm going to post my first attempts at taking video of Dannan. The videos are of pretty poor quality, but for my first ones, I'm willing to take them. Please enjoy seeing The Little Brown Dog, live and in canine, on location at Nanny and Papa's house!

When he's jumping at the fence, he's jumping at the birds in the neighbour's tree.

And we are giving the award we got at the beginning of this post to anybody who has given us an award which we haven't acknowledged, and you're still are our friends anyway. Thank you, we love you.

Girlie out.

Friday Report

Wrooooooo! It's Dannan, The Little Brown Dog, reporting to you from Nanny and Papa's house!

Yes, The Girl and I have been staying here all week. I ask you, how can an intrepid reporter like me make a report without pictures? Well, when the cameraGirl forgets to bring the camera, there's not much to do but make words. Silly Girlie.

Anyway, it's been warmer this week, hovering around zero. I've been able to stay outside a lot longer, and it's been good. I finally discovered where Nanny hides her birdies (in the tree in the neighbour's yard), so I've had good fun wrooooing at them!

The Girl and I also took a walk. I had to wear the hoodie, and THEN SHE PUT BOOTIES ON MY FEET. The indignity! It was sooooooo embarrassing!

Thankfully, the first bootie dropped of halfway down the driveway, and the second got lost in the deep snow by the telephone pole at the corner of Nanny and Papa's front yard. The last bootie stayed on the whole time, but it was much more comfortable than having to wear all three!

Nanny's judgement was that the booties were too small. (She made them long ago for Shea.) Ha ha! I have foiled the booties!!!

(Note from The Girl: Dannan doesn't know it, but Nanny is making him new booties, which will be just his size.)

In other news, Papa is the BEST! He gives me lots of treats! We ate an apple today, and I got one-third of it! The Girl is trying to make Papa be more sensible, but I know that he's a good guy. He'll find a way to share. He's good like that.

(Another note from The Girl: Papa has been told that the only food he can share with
Dannan is apple. And I regularly repeat that Dannan cannot gain weight because of his three-leggedness. Like, every evening at dinner. And sometimes at noon. And I watch them both like hawks.)

Sorry there are no pictures, evfurrybody. We have to go home sometime this weekend because it's the Roomie's birthday, so we'll pick it up then. And take some pictures with it. Wroo.

Goodbye, 2008!

Happy New Year to all of my furends!!!

BOL! Do you like this picture of cats watching Dannan TV? The Girl made it at photofunia.com!

My furends from the Zoo Crew and my furend Joe Stains asked me why I HATE my hoodie, when I am so handsome in it? Well, just on general principle, I suppose! I hate wearing clothes of any sort. I think it all stems from when I had my operation and the V-E-T stole my leggy... afterward, instead of a Cone Head, I got to wear t-shirts. They covered up my stitches so I couldn't lick or chew at them, and I had to wear them for a very long time. The Girl went nuts and bought a whole bunch of baby shirts from the thrift store, and she dressed me up in them. I was tolerant at furst, but once I was healed I thought I was done with the clothing. Ever since, I've hated having to wear jackets and coats, or anything like them!

The Girl says to apologize for us still being behind on all our bloggy furends. If you can imagine, she's been working on HER bloggy. I know, the nerve, right? Her bloggy is nowhere near as interesting as mine, and she's definitely not in the same league when it comes to handsomeness. She doesn't even put up pictures! (Except of me, and why would you go to her bloggy to see the occasional picture of me, when you could come to MY bloggy where it's ALL about me?)

We are just having a quiet evening at home tonight. The Girl will probably insist on packing us off to bed at 9:00 or something. Tomorrow, we're going over to Nanny and Papa's house for the traditional New Year's dinner. I am hoping for some good eatables. The Girl says not to hold my breath, but Papa always finds a way!

We hope everyone is warm and safe tonight! Tell your peoples that, too! Wrooooo!

Christmas Day!

Wroooooooooooooo and Merry Christmas! Dannan here, blogging from Nanny and Papa's house! We've been here since Tuesday, and we'll go home sometime this weekend, I think.

I got a new toy, Mr. Santa Head. Check out the action shots that The Girl took!

Then, while I was having fun with Mr. Santa Head, The Girl opened a gift with a pretty scarf in it. She asked me if I wanted to pose in the scarf; we settled on this compromise:

Wroo, a pretty handsome picture, if I do say so myself!

Then, of course, I had to go Upside Down.

They have snow here, too, just like we do at home! (The Girl notes that we only live fifteen minutes away.) The Girl shoveled out a little area for me to do my business. I also bounded through the snow in quite a few places, because she was too lazy to shovel paths for me. It's been a bit warmer today (only -4 or so Celsius), so I've been able to do a little running.

Dannan, faster than a speeding bullet! BOL, at least faster than a Girlie can take a picture!

Upside down, getting Nanny scratches! (Blurry, sorry!)

At Nanny and Papa's house, I can see out the front picture window and watch all the goings-on on the street. (As I've said before, I can't see out of our windows at home, because they are Min Pin proofed so they won't go bonkers when someone goes by.)

I got a whole bunch of presents, too!

This is from my Auntie S.

A package of Busy Bones from Santa...

Some parmesan cheese cookies from The Girl...

Skunk, from Nanny... he has a squeeker, and he also has crinkly bits in his arms and leggies!

A new coat, from The Girl. I don't know why she gave me a new coat, I hate my OLD coat! (The Girl: The old coat has velcro fasteners, and he's scared of the sound of them ripping apart. I haven't gotten around to replacing the velcro with snaps, so he got a new coat that pulls over. It's actually a hoodie! He looks like quite the rock star in it... I'll get a picture next time I put it on him.)

This is Mr. Santa Head, also from Nanny. He is missing the pompom on his hat (which The Girl cut off anyway), because I already pulled it off. He's a pretty fun guy.

I pose with all the Christmas loot...

The Girl begged and pleaded, and pleaded and begged, so I gave her a good shot...

The Girl also says that she got me a new laser pointer but forgot to give it to me. I say, show me the toy, Girlie! Then I'll believe it!

More fun with Mr. Santa Head... I am too fast for film!

The Girl says we are going to try to get a picture of the two of us together later on tonight. We don't have any pictures like that, so it would be nice if she had to pose for a change!

Oh, and I was going to mention that our Christmas card image is not the product of magic by The Girl. She didn't make my head go into the ornaments; it's a website called Photofunia. Please! The Girl can hardly use Photoshop to crop, never mind this kind of skillful art! Wroo! It's a fun site, so check it out when you have time.

Anywroo, I hope all of my furends are having a wonderful day, whether they celebrate Christmas or not. Hope you're all getting lots of cuddles and treats, and that your people (or Santa Paws!) got you some fun new toys! Furends, we love you all and are thinking of you today!

The Girl came back...

(Note from The Girl: Grrrrr. We wrote this post yesterday, and thought that it had published! Just now, I found out that it didn't. Sorry, PuppyBoy!)

Wroooooooo!!!! The Girl came home! She picked me up at Nanny and Papa's house on Thursday night. When she let herself in, I woofed at her, like she was some stranger, BOL! Then I roared around the corner and just about wagged my tail off, I was so happy!

The Girl didn't stay long, because the Roomie was waiting in the car. Once we got home, I remembered that I was MAD at her because she had ABANDONED me. I ignored her the rest of the evening, and then stayed in my doggie bed ALL NIGHT (instead of joining her in the Big Bed for the second half of the night). I wouldn't tell her ANYTHING about my stay with Nanny and Papa.

There are no pictures, either, because The Girl took the camera with her to Vancouver. Don't you think that she would rather have pictures of what I was doing while I was ABANDONED rather than pictures of Great Big Sea? (That's her favourite band, by the way.)

So, since there are no pictures of my actual visit, here are some from previous ones:

Even though I'm staying mum about what I did, The Girl knows that at some point, I went Upside Down. Nanny is a very good belly scratcher.

I also like to lie like this on their couch. It's got this great bumpy thing with the cushions, and it makes a great chin rest.

This is the backyard at Nanny and Papa's house. They put the fence up just for me, you know.

And, at some point, I probably went Upside Down again. That couch is the best!

So I'm not telling what happened, but Nanny had to tell her something. I've never been ABANDONED anywhere but at home with the Roomie before. So I was a little sad when she left.

(The Girl here. No doubt the treat fest started the minute I was out the door. Nanny gives him really tasty treats.)

I didn't want to sleep in my doggie bed, even though The Girl had brought it over with me. I wanted to sleep with Nanny, but she said I am too noisy. I don't know what she's talking about. I just wanted to sleep!

(The Girl again. Dannan truly is the noisiest sleeping dog I have ever encountered. He moans and groans. And groans and moans. Then when he's dreaming, he puffs his cheeks in and out and in and out. Then he barks, kind of a muffled bark because he keeps his mouth closed and it kind of comes from his throat. Sometimes, he growls. I always wonder what he dreams about. Anyway, the point is, he's noisy. My Mom is a very light sleeper, so she didn't want him waking her up all night just as she got to sleep. And then, of course, halfway through the night he'd decide he was cold and jump up on her bed to cuddle up and get warm.)

So Nanny said that I could sleep wherever I wanted, even on the couch! (At home, I get locked in the bedroom with The Girl. She says it's so the cats can have some peace.) I stayed up with my Papa while he watched late night t.v. When he was ready for bed, he didn't want to turn the light off in case it woke me up, so he left it on.

Nanny got up not long after that and thought that I was cold. So she wrapped me up in a fleece blankie, and I just cuddled down on the couch. I never, ever let The Girl put covers on me! But I let my Nanny!

The next day, I got to chase a CAT in Nanny's backyard! She says that if I catch a cat in her backyard, I can keep it! I spent most of the day out patrolling her backyard and surveying it from her back step. By the way, Girlie, why don't you put out a pile of blankets for me in our backyard? That was really nice at Nanny's.

The only treat that I got while I was there was a bit of Papa's apple. I was a Very Good Dawg and waited to be told "okay" before I took my piece from his fingers. (The Girl here, we've been working on not being grabby. And I'm sure that was FAR from his ONLY treat! That's just the only treat that my Mom confessed to giving him!)

Anywroo, I guess if I have to be ABANDONED, and I can't stay at my own house, Nanny and Papa's house isn't such a bad place. IF, that is, I have to be ABANDONED, which is something that should never happen again.

The Girl even went to Petsmart while she was in Vancouver, and she saw something that she thinks is maybe what Daisy is talking about when she tells us about her favourite chicken strips. But did she bring me any? NOOOOOOOOOO! All she bought were clickers. She says she likes to have extra ones. Meanie.

(Once again, The Girl here. He also got this really cool laser light thingy that clips onto his collar, so he can chase the laser light until he goes silly from it, but he doesn't have it yet.)

I wuff my Nanny and my Papa, but I really don't like to be anywhere without The Girl. She says that I'm spoiled. But I say, well who's fault is that, then? And she sighs, because she knows I'm right.

Moral of the story: If you have to be ABANDONED like I was, make sure you go someplace where you won't be spoiled a bit! Wrooooooooo!!!

(Final note from The Girl: Although my Mom didn't confess to giving him a bunch of treats, I know that she and my Dad give him a ton of them right in front of me. So I'm pretty sure he ate his weight in people food while I was gone. And it sounds like he had a pretty good time, for an abandoned dog!)

Award! and a Meme!

Wroooooooo! I have so much to write about, but The Girl says that we're going to start with the award that my very good furend Daisy gave me:

We love you too, Daisy!!!

Daisy also tagged us for a meme! (Have I mentioned that I wuff Daisy???) So did Dozer and the Canine Mafioso! (Did you know that the Mafioso have a new blog? Their old one died, so click on their name to see their new home!)

My 8 favorite foods:
  1. My bedtime chewies (DentaStix and Omega-3)
  2. Apples
  3. Cheese (except for cheese slices, which I only get when I go to the groomer's to get my nails cut)
  4. Yogurt
  5. Meat, meat, meat!
  6. Anything that the Min Pins are getting
  7. Beef bones
  8. Rice

8 Things I did today:

  1. Woke The Girl up at 4:58 a.m., because we were awake then yesterday, too.
  2. Let The Girl go back to sleep.

  5. Had some apple.
  6. Ignored everyone and hung out downstairs in my bedroom.
  7. Sniffed Lexi's head and butt.
  8. Was told that I Cannot Have A Cat.

8 Favorite Stores:

  1. Hmmm. I don't get to go into many stores. I've been in Petcetera a few times, but The Girl says that I mark too much when I'm in a pet store so I haven't been there lately.
  2. I do get to sometimes guard the car while The Girl goes into stores. I don't really like to be left behind, though. Unless I get a good treat.
  3. I like to examine the bags that come from stores, to see if they contain contraband. Or something really good. (This isn't really about my favourite stores, but I'm going with it.)
  4. The Girl says that all of our eatables come from a grocery store. So I think that must be a pretty good store, filled with all those eatables!
  5. I can't think of anything else that has to do with stores, so I'll stop here.

8 Restaurants:

  1. I have never been to a restaurant. They don't let doggies into the ones where we live. But I have been through fast food drive thrus, and sometimes they will give me a cookie!

8 Things I look Forward To:

  1. Eating
  2. Cuddling with The Girl
  3. Visiting Nanny and Papa
  4. Going to the dog park (hint, hint, Girlie!)
  5. Going for a walk (another hint! Do I really need to wrooooooooooo???)
  6. Sneak attacks to kiss the Roomie's face
  7. The Girl coming home after she abandons me
  8. Chasing the laser light

8 Things I Like To Do With Family:

  1. Cuddle
  2. Eat
  3. Play chase
  4. Play tug with stuffies, then de-stuff them!
  5. Charm them and make them love me!

  1. As many apples as I can eat.
  2. A new squirrel stuffy.
  3. A cat of my very own.
  4. To never be abandoned again.
  5. Thumbs, so I don't have to depend on undependable people to help me blog.
  6. Finding a furend that will play chase with me all the time.
  7. Homes for all the furries in the world.
  8. A cat of my very own. Or two. Or more.

8 Buddies I’m Tagging with the meme:

  1. I haven't been able to keep up with all my bloggy furends in the last few days, so I don't know who's done this yet. So I'll tag evfurrybody who wants to do it!

The Girl says she needs a break, what a lazy thing! We'll be back soon to tell you all about ABANDONMENT and Nanny and Papa's!

Wow! Lookit all the cards!

Wroooooooooooo! It's me, Dannan! Guess what we found in the mailbox today... HOLIDAY CARDS!!! Four of them!!! (The Girl doesn't have any, yet!) The Girl took pictures after we opened them, but she's in a bit of a rush today, trying to get ready to ABANDON me.

She said we could do a quick post, just to let evfurrybody know that we have received cards in the snail mail, and a TON of e-cards! The Girl hasn't had time (she says) to look at them all, so on the weekend, we're going to do a massive Holiday Card post.

The snow is all gone. It was very sunny today, but the wind was really cold! We took some pictures outside this afternoon when The Girl came home, but she says she's too busy to deal with them right now. You know, because she's getting ready to ABANDON me.

I also wanted to CONGRATULATE the winner of Bolo's Nosevember Competition - my good furend Eduardo the Snuggle Puggle!! Eduardo, you are pawsome! And Bolo and his Mom did such a great job putting together a really fun contest, so thanks to them, too! We didn't do so well at recognizing our furends' noses, and we're really sorry about that! If you catch me staring hard at you, I'm trying to memorize your features better!

Well, The Girl says she needs to go pack. To ABANDON me. She's going to Vancouver tomorrow morning, and will be back Thursday night. And I have to go to my Nanny and Papa's house. (We didn't make it there this weekend, so I haven't even had a dry run.) The Girl has gone away before, but I've always stayed at home with my Roomie and my Min Pins and my cats and my bed and all my stuff. But the Roomie is going with her, so I can't stay home. (The Roomie's dad will come over to look after the Pins and the cats, but The Girl thinks I will be happier to be at Nanny and Papa's, where they will be with me the whole time.)

I sure hope Nanny and Papa give me lots of treats and belly rubs so that I don't feel so bad and sad and lonely. The Girl keeps a pretty close watch on Papa when we visit, because he always wants to give me LOTS of eatables. The Girl lets me have a taste of most of her eatables, but it's always a really tiny taste. Microscopic sometimes. For instance, if I get a taste of her carrot muffin, it's always just a tiny crumb. Like half the size of her pinky finger. Or even smaller! But Papa thinks that I should get half of the muffin. So The Girl keeps an eye on him. I'm supposed to stay very lean because of my missing leggy, so I'm not supposed to get lots of eatables other than my kibble. I'm hoping for a bonanza at their house, though. If she's doesn't want that to happen, then she shouldn't ABANDON me. I know you all agree with me.

About ten days ago, The Girl and I went for a walk, and we got lots of pictures. The Girl has a whole post planned with them (jeepers, Girlie, it's going to be spring before you actually do it!), but she said I could post two of them. So here I am, checking my pee mail...

And here's another picture of me in the leaves. Can you find me? BOL!

I don't imagine that I'll get a chance to post again until Fur-eye-day. So have a good couple of days, doggies and kitties, and I'll tell you then about my ABANDONMENT. (And massive amount of eatables, I hope!)
